Monett Varsity Lady cubs Loses Lead Early in Defeat

Monett Varsity Lady cubs watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 11-6 loss to Richmond on Saturday.  Richmond took the lead on a triple in the first inning.

Monett Varsity Lady cubs collected seven hits and Richmond had 12 in the high-scoring affair.

In the first inning, Richmond got their offense started when #10 tripled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

Monett Varsity Lady cubs put up three runs in the fourth inning.  Monett Varsity Lady cubs batters contributing to the big inning included Ashtyn Blakey, Molly Poole, and Kailyn Cendroski, all driving in runs in the frame.

Richmond scored six runs in the third inning.  Richmond offense in the inning was led by #16, #4,  #21, and #10, all driving in runs in the inning.

#21 earned the win for Richmond. The bulldog went four innings, allowing six runs on seven hits and striking out five.

Kendra Parsons took the loss for Monett Varsity Lady cubs. Parsons lasted two innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out one.

Monett Varsity Lady cubs racked up seven hits.  Halle Schoen and Natalie Rivera each racked up multiple hits for Monett Varsity Lady cubs.  Rivera and Schoen all had two hits to lead Monett Varsity Lady cubs.

Richmond saw the ball well today, racking up 12 hits in the game.  #11, #3, #27, and #21 all collected multiple hits for Richmond.  #11 led Richmond with three hits in three at bats.  Richmond stole eight bases during the game as two players stole more than one. #3 led the way with two.

Monett Varsity Lady cubs Struggles to Find Groove Against Republic Republic Varsity Fall 2021 Varsity

 Nothing came easy for Monett Varsity Lady cubs on Saturday, as they fell 16-2 to Republic Republic Varsity Fall 2021 Varsity

Monett Varsity Lady cubs opened up scoring in the first inning.  Molly Poole drew a walk, scoring one run.

Republic Republic Varsity Fall 2021 Varsity pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning.  In the second Jenna Belcher doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs, an error scored two runs for Republic Republic Varsity Fall 2021 Varsity, and Mara Lakey lined out, driving in a run.

Republic Republic Varsity Fall 2021 Varsity scored seven runs in the third inning.  The big inning for Republic Republic Varsity Fall 2021 Varsity came thanks to a triple by Addison Walker, a single by Annabelle Gerhardt-Hobbs, a home run by Lakey, a groundout by Jaci West, and a double by Belcher.

Lakey pitched Republic Republic Varsity Fall 2021 Varsity to victory. The hurler allowed six hits and zero runs over three and a third innings, striking out one and walking zero.
