Monett Lady Cubs Varsity Stymied By Neosho, Lose 9-1
Monett Lady Cubs Varsity had trouble keeping up with Neosho in a 9-1 loss on Monday.
In the bottom of the third inning, Monett Lady Cubs Varsity tied things up at one when Taylor Southard singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
Neosho pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth #1 tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs and #14 singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Neosho scored three runs in the seventh inning. The big inning for Neosho came thanks to a single by #1 and by #14.
#9 got the start for Neosho. She lasted seven innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out six.
Caitlyn Calhoun toed the rubber for Monett Lady Cubs Varsity. She allowed 14 hits and nine runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking zero.
Ashtyn Blakey went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Monett Lady Cubs Varsity in hits.
Neosho totaled 14 hits. #14, Dawnson, #10, #1, #12, and Winchester all collected multiple hits for Neosho.
